AI Safety Center
A risk-management feature for responsible AI use — not a marketing page. State-adopted rules and applicable court orders control. ABA Formal Opinion 512 is general background only.
Mandatory safe-use workflow
Before relying on any AI output, work through each step. This is a checklist, not a rubber stamp.
1
Is client or protected information involved?
2
Is the tool approved by the firm?
3
What do the vendor current retention, training, access, security, and deletion terms say?
4
Is informed client communication or consent required under the governing jurisdiction?
5
Does a court, judge, agency, protective order, or contract restrict or require disclosure of AI use?
6
Has every factual statement been checked against the record?
7
Has every citation been opened, read, validated, and checked for current treatment?
8
Have quotations and pin cites been compared to the source?
9
Has jurisdiction, procedural posture, date, and controlling authority been confirmed?
10
Has a lawyer performed and documented final review?
AI output can fabricate citations, misstate law, and leak confidential input. No AI tool replaces a lawyer's independent professional judgment. Document your review.
